Getting Started
Set up AlertOwl in under 5 minutes — no technical knowledge needed.
Create your account
Sign up at alertowl.ai/signup with your email. You'll receive a verification email — click the link to activate your account.
Connect your inbox
Go to the Connections tab in your dashboard and click Connect next to Gmail or Outlook. You'll sign in with your email provider — we use OAuth, so we never see your password.
Gmail users: You'll see a Google warning during beta — this is normal. Here's exactly what to click:
You're in — full access
During beta, you get full access to all AlertOwl features at no charge. No credit card required. We'll notify you before any pricing changes.
Add your WhatsApp number
In Settings, enter the WhatsApp number where you'd like to receive alerts. Include your country code (e.g., +971 50 123 4567).
Done — alerts start automatically
AlertOwl begins monitoring your inbox immediately. Critical messages trigger instant WhatsApp alerts. Everything else appears in your daily digest email.
How It Works
What happens behind the scenes after you connect your inbox.
Email arrives in your inbox
AlertOwl checks your connected accounts every 60 seconds for new messages. We read the message content to classify it, then permanently remove it immediately after classification — only metadata is retained.
AI classifies the message
Our AI analyzes the sender, subject, and preview to determine the category (Payment, Complaint, VIP, etc.) and priority (Critical, High, Medium, Low). It also checks your custom alert rules.
You get alerted — or not
Critical / High: Instant WhatsApp alert. Medium: Included in your daily digest email. Low: Archived in your dashboard — no notification.
Alert Categories
Every message is classified into one of these categories.
⭐ VIP
Messages from important contacts you've flagged or the AI identifies as high-value.
🚨 Urgent
Time-sensitive messages needing immediate action — outages, emergencies, deadlines.
💰 Payment
Invoices, payment confirmations, overdue notices, billing messages.
😠 Complaint
Unhappy customers, negative feedback, escalations, or angry tone detected.
⚖️ Legal
Government notices, legal requests, compliance, regulatory communications.
⚙️ System
Automated system alerts, server notifications, service status updates.
🚫 Spam
Marketing blasts, unsolicited promotions, newsletters you didn't subscribe to.
🛑 Fraud
Phishing attempts, suspicious requests, impersonation, or scam indicators.
📋 Other
Anything that doesn't fit the categories above — still monitored and logged.
